Today Helphin guide you how to install on Piwik on your cPanel hosting server for your WordPress website.
Go to Piwik.org and Click Download Piwik X.XX.X button to download your package.
(X.XX.X is current version)
Now find your download directory. Extract the Piwik zip package.
Open Filezilla and log in your hosting account. Now upload your Piwik files into public_html directory on hosting server. Here I going install Piwik on public_html/demo/piwik directory for demonstration.
Log in your GoDaddy Hosting accounts. Find Web Hosting tab and Click Manage button.
Click Manage button.
In cPanel Dashboard, find Databases section and click MySQL Databases link.
First we create Piwik database name. So choose your database name and press Create Database button.
( Note: We choose database name as piwikanaly is used for demonstration purpose. You can choose your own name.)
Create Database username and password. Here our Piwik database username is “piwikadmin”. Now click Create User button.
Now we add a user to Piwik database because of Administrative privileges. Here select a user and database into a dropdown list. Now click Add button.
Here check ALL PRIVILEGES option and click Make Changes button.
Now go to your browser and navigate or <yourdomain.com/childdirectory>.
Here we installed Piwik on demo/piwik directory. So we navigate domainname.com/demo/piwik.
Now you can see the Welcome page. Click Next button to start installing Piwik on your domain.
This page is going to check your server compatibility. If the server is have required compatibility then you can click Next button.
This is Database setup page. First Enter your Database log in username, password and Database name. Now click Next button.
Now click Next button to Create database tables.
Now set administrative username and password for Piwik application. So enter your log in username, password and email id and click Next button.
This is the setup for website which is to be analytics. Choose your website name, Enter your website URL and choose your time zone. If you are using piwik for non commercial website then you can choose Not an Ecommerce site and press Next button.
If you are using WordPress site you can insert this code in header.php file.
Now log in your wordpress admin account and Go to Appearance and choose Editor.
In Editor, Navigate Header.php file and findtag. Insert your copied piwik code inside of <body>..</body> tag and press Update File button to save your editing.
Now press Next button to continue your Piwik installation.
Finally, you installed your own analytics application for your WordPress website.
After Piwik installation, you can log in your Piwik account. First open your browser and navigate www.yourdomain.com/subdirectory and hit enter.
You can see your Piwik dashboard. Here there is no analytics data. If you want to see your Piwik dashboard, then go to your website in any browser.

Finally, you can installed your own analytics tool for your WordPress website. Piwik is alternate tool for Google analytics.
